Dear Year 1 Parents,
We will be setting home learning tasks daily as well as some projects and practical activities for your child to complete at home. Children may find it challenging to complete work when surrounded by their toys, books and games so it is important that their activities are done in short bursts.

Use capital letters and full stops in your sentences and see can you use some interesting adjectives throughout your writing!!

LO; To create arrays
Today we are learning about arrays.
An array is where objects are put into columns and rows so we can add or multiply them easily.
Work through the tasks on the powerpoint first:
IF you would like to complete some additional learning about arrays in the Power Maths(these were distributed at school last week) books please complete the section on arrays starting at page 84.
LO; To group animals based on their characteristics.
Today we will be thinking about why we can put animals into different groups. This lesson recaps over what we have been learning about different groups of animals such as mammals and reptiles.

Can you create a fact file of your favourite animal.?
Using some key words that we have learned in this topic such as;
Mammal, reptile, amphibian, carnivore and herbivore can you tell me all about your animal. You might also tell me about the habitat that your animal live in.

This week we have been learning all about 2D and 3D shapes.
We created a beautiful Collective worship about God’s Creation to share with our parents. We all reflected on ways that we could care for God’s world.
We spent the morning baking cakes for our grandparents to enjoy at our Afternoon tea.
