We have been getting to know each other in Year 1 by telling each other some interesting facts about ourselves. We spoke about what our favourite colours were, favourite food, dream jobs for when we are older and much more. Have a look at the image below to see some of our key facts.
In English, we have been learning about the story of the Little Red Hen. During the week we made some hen faces using paper mache, feathers and googly eyes. Over the next few weeks, we will continue to do fun things based around this story.
In English this week, we are working on writing a set of instructions to make a loaf of bread (just like the Little Red Hen). Have a look at a few photos below to see how we got on. 🥯 🍞 🥖
We have been learning about ‘Our Family History’ in Year 1. Last week, we hired some items from Brent museum and got to look through the differences in life between now and then. The children had the opportunity to try on a petticoat, smart pieces of clothing, and look at some other interesting items such as old fairy liquid vs new fairy liquid, film tape, coal for a coal fire, and old newspapers.
Please find below the useful phonics resources. I hope these are of use to you.
We currently follow the Letters Wandle Letters and Sounds Programme in school. Click here to go onto the parents section of the Little Wandle website. This will show you what your child will learn, and how to support them at home.
The web-links below are some activities and games that you can play at home with your children.
