A big congratulations to all those who took part and ran their fastest in the races today! We had some great spectators who were unable to run due to injuries but instead worked their lungs cheering for their classmates instead! Well done to everyone for participating!
You’ve all been extremely busy completing your learning online and exercising both mentally and physically! Have a look at what each other are up to!
02.02.2021- Ancient Greek diaries:
As part of our current learning about the Ancient Greeks, pupils wrote as an Ancient Greek citizen and what daily life was like. Using research from websites and previous lessons, the diaries were full of creative but factual information. Enjoy reading what Ancient Greek life was like!
25.01.2021- English zoom meeting with Brian Masters from the RNLI:
Brian spoke to us about coastal and river safety and what to do in an emergency. We are learning this as the character- Cherry- in ‘The Giant’s Necklace’ got in trouble at sea. Over the next two week we’re making a beach safety leaflet for Cherry and a radio safety advert to help others stay safe whilst enjoying beaches.
22.01.2021- PSHE: Online relationships
As we’re having to use our laptops and other devices connected to the internet to complete our online learning this term, we’re currently learning how to stay safe online and be good digital citizens. We created examples to show how to stay safe online with communicating with our friends (remember become friends in ‘offline’ real life first, then move your friendship online) and in case a stranger approached us online too.
18.01.2021 and 22.01.2021 Science- healthy bodies:
We have been learning about how to eat a balanced diet and ensure our bodies get all the nutrients they need to work efficiently and be healthy. As part of our science we had to make our own healthy lunch- lots of us are definitely skilled in the kitchen! Have a look for some more ideas for your own healthy lunches during remote learning.
13.01.2021 PE with Joe Wicks:
13.01.2021 English comprehension work:
We’ve also been exercising our reading comprehension skills by creating our own reading quizzes based on the opening section of our new book: ‘The Giant’s Necklace’ by Michael Morpurgo.

We have created a short video outlining the curriculum expectations and key points of information, the children need to be aware of during their time in Year 6. It is also an opportunity to virtually meet your child’s class teacher. The slides in the presentation have been uploaded too.
