Welcome back everyone! Happy New Year and here’s to a successful 2022! It’s going to be exciting and full of lots of new learning and opportunities. We’ve got lots to do in school in preparation for our SATs in May and many life skills to learn in addition to those needed to pass the tests! You’ll have booster groups to attend in the mornings so make sure you’re on time for those and ready to revise lots!

have a happy and healthy new year

Homework is set every day and is due the next day unless stated otherwise. Your child will write down their tasks in their planner each day and adults are asked to sign this to acknowledge that the homework has been completed in full. If homework is incomplete, time may be given during break or lunch times to complete.

‘Go Ape’ 3 marks reading answer structure:

These questions are based on the idea that all children in KS2 should be taught to answer questions with reference to the text (Answer it and Prove it) as per the National Curriculum.  As they get older and more mature, including an explanation of links with other parts of the text and prior knowledge becomes important. We’re encouraging this structure so pupils know they’ve done enough to get the full three marks:

It’s useful for maths too!

Please complete the day’s activities on Oak Academy. There’s videos to watch to see the learning and tasks. When complete, take a photo of your work and send it in to the office email to forward to me. Hopefully we’ll see you back in class soon!
