Mini Vinnies

Our Mini Vinnies are a group of children who work together to make a positive difference within our school and wider community. Inspired by the work of the St Vincent de Paul Society, the children look for ways they can help others, show kindness and support people who may be in need.

Throughout the year, our Mini Vinnies take part in different activities linked to prayer, charity and helping others. This has included supporting our local food bank, creating Christmas cards and prayers for those who are sick or in need, and taking part in activities that encourage friendship, kindness and looking out for others. The children also have opportunities to think of their own ideas for how we can help our school and local community.

An important part of being a Mini Vinnie is learning how we can put our faith into action. Our activities link closely to Catholic Social Teaching, including human dignity, solidarity, helping those in need and taking part in our community. We encourage our Mini Vinnies to notice when someone may need help and understand that even a small act of kindness can make a difference.

Most importantly, we want our Mini Vinnies to enjoy helping others and to understand that we can all use our actions to show the love, kindness and compassion that Jesus taught us.
