BD Digital Disciples

Our BD Digital Disciples are a group of pupils who use their creativity, digital skills and faith to help share the Good News of the Gospel with our school community.

As Digital Disciples, they meet together to explore how technology can be used positively to share our Catholic faith, inspire others and make a difference in the world. They have an important role in providing our school community with information about our faith and helping others to discover how we can live out the teachings of Jesus in our everyday lives.

Our Digital Disciples are inspired by the example of Carlo Acutis, who used technology to share his love of God and the Catholic faith. Carlo is often described as “God’s influencer” and is recognised as the patron of the internet. Following in his footsteps, our pupils are encouraged to think about how digital technology can be used for good: to encourage, educate, connect and bring people closer to God.

Our Digital Disciples have a wealth of technology at their fingertips. They can write blogs, create PowerPoint presentations, produce informative videos and share messages with the wider school community.

Through creativity, collaboration and faith, our BD Digital Disciples are learning to become responsible digital citizens who use technology to spread the Good News, promote justice and kindness and live out their faith in the digital world.

St Francis of Assisi: Caring for Creation in a Digital World

Our Yr 5 and Yr 6 Digital Disciples have been exploring how the life and teachings of St Francis of Assisi can inspire us to care for God’s creation in today’s digitally evolving world. Through their PowerPoint presentations, the children have made meaningful links to Catholic Social Teaching (CST), particularly Care for Creation, considering how our everyday choices can help protect our planet and create a more sustainable future. They have reflected on how we can use technology responsibly, reduce waste, protect the environment and encourage others to make positive changes.

Inspired by the example of St Francis and the modern-day digital evangelisation of St Carlo Acutis, our pupils are discovering how they can become spiritual influencers, using their digital skills to spread positive messages, share their faith and inspire others to care for our common home.

We invite you to explore their presentations and discover how small, thoughtful actions can make a big difference to our world.
