The Eco Council at Blessed Dominic plays an important role in helping our school community care for God’s creation and develop a more sustainable way of living. Our Eco Council members work alongside pupils and staff to promote practical actions that help us reduce waste, conserve energy, protect biodiversity and use resources responsibly.

As Eco Council members, pupils take on active roles within their classrooms, including monitoring recycling, encouraging responsible use of electricity and helping their classmates make environmentally friendly choices. Through these responsibilities, pupils learn that both individual actions and working together can make a meaningful difference to the world around us.

Our Eco Council’s work supports our curriculum and our wider commitment to developing pupils who are socially, morally and environmentally aware, encouraging them to become responsible stewards of our common home.

Throughout the year, the Eco Council leads and supports a range of whole-school environmental initiatives, including Just One Tree Day, Disconnect to Reconnect Day and local litter picks, as well as other activities that encourage our school community to take action for our planet.

Through their enthusiasm, leadership and teamwork, our Eco Council helps us to care for creation, inspire positive change and build a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future for everyone.
